Nina D’Amato is an esteemed technology executive, currently leading an impressive organization of 950 technologists at the County of Santa Clara - the heart of Silicon Valley. Under her leadership, her team delivers 45 IT services to 25,000 customers, including three public hospitals and 60 business lines, all dedicated to serving the 1.8 million residents of the County. Prior to her current role, Nina served as the Associate CIO for Business Services (March 2022 - February 2023) and Director of IT in the Office of the CIO (November 2019 - March 2022) at the same organization. Her journey also includes a significant tenure as the Chief of Staff at the City and County of San Francisco - Department of Technology (March 2016 - November 2019), where she honed her skills in public sector technology leadership.
Before her civic technology leadership, Nina was the Deputy Director of Programs at the Naval Postgraduate School (February 2013 - March 2016). There, she was involved in innovative projects like leading teams on Unmanned Aerial Vehicle autonomous swarms. Additionally, Nina's diverse background includes her experience as a US Congressional Fellow for Senator Robert P. Casey, Jr. (September 2011 - December 2012) and her role as the Director of the Education Portfolio for the U.S. Marines in Afghanistan (September 2009 - May 2011).
